Privacy.

This page explains how Dog Orthopedic collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to this site. It applies to use of dogorthopedic.com.

What we collect

  • Server logs. Standard request logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp). Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns — page views, referrers, country-level geography, and how readers navigate the site. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies in your browser to measure unique sessions. We do not enable Google's advertising features, ad personalization signals, or remarketing audiences. You can opt out of Google Analytics across the web with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Affiliate-link clicks. When you click an outbound product link, the destination retailer (Amazon, Chewy) may set their own cookies under their privacy policies. Those cookies allow them to attribute a purchase back to us as the referring site. We do not see your purchase information.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or retargeting pixels.
  • We do not require accounts or store personal contact data unless you contact us directly.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential first-party cookies for things like remembering dismissed cookie banners. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. Outbound retailer links (Amazon, Chewy) may set their own cookies on their domains.

Third-party services we use

  • Vercel hosts this site. Vercel processes server logs for reliability and DDoS protection.
  • Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate traffic. Google's privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools verifies our site for search indexing. No tracking script is loaded; we use a static HTML verification meta tag only.
  • Amazon Creators API provides product data and product images. Browser requests for product images are made directly to Amazon's CDN.
  • Pexels licenses lifestyle photography that we host directly on this site (downloaded copies, not hot-linked).

Your rights

If you are in the EU/UK or California, applicable law gives you rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we do not maintain user accounts, the only personal data we hold is what's in server logs (typically only your IP) and any direct correspondence. To make a request, write to us via the contact page.

Updates to this policy

When we materially change this policy we'll update the date at the bottom and, where appropriate, note the change at the top of the page.
